NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR

AQUATIC PLANT MANAGEMENT PERMIT

 

The Honey Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District has submitted applications to treat up to 64 acres of water on Honey Lake, Delmonte Lake and Tahoe Lake with aquatic pesticides to control aquatic invasive plant species, specifically Curly Leaf Pondweed.  A copy of the permit application is provided here, and copies are posted in the kiosks located at the north beach and at the park on Shervin Drive. The proposed treatment would occur between April 12 and September 30, 2021.

 

The Honey Lake P & R District will conduct a public informational meeting on the proposed treatment if five or more individuals, organizations, special units of government, or local units of government request one.  The meeting would give interested parties a chance to learn more about the proposed treatment from the permit applicant. The Honey Lake P & R District is not required to, but may, change the proposed treatment based on information provided by citizens attending the meeting.

 

Any request for a public meeting on this proposed treatment must be made within five (5) days after this notice is published.  The request must specify the topics to be discussed at the meeting, including the problems and alternatives, and must be sent in writing to Honey Lake P & R District, P.O. Box 565 , Burlington, WI, 53105 and to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, 9531 Rayne Rd., Sturtevant, WI  53177.
